Welcome to the

Intelligent and Interoperable Manufacturing Systems (IIMS)

Department of Mechanical Engineering

School of Engineering

Our goal is through this Web-site to provide you with a snap-shot of our research activities and an avenue for exchanging ideas and possible research synergy.

IIMS was informally set up in 1999 and made a formal research unit in 2006. The research work centers around providing solutions for industry in achieving an intelligent and interoperable manufacturing environment. The key to the approaches is STEP-compliant CAPP-CAM-CNC platform where STEP-NC is the enabling data model for CNC systems.

Thanks for visiting us.
